Remember the dance flicks from the past? I was cruising through You Tube this morning as I enjoyed the first cup of coffee for the day and came across an old video from Flashdance. It made me stop and think... not a lot of these kind of movies anymore.
Why is that? Have we lost the desire to dance? Do our toes not tap in time to the beat anymore? Or have we simply lost interest in films that feature song and dance? Any any rate, here's a few videos from some films of the past - romantic tales that used song and dance as part of their expression.
What's your favorite?
Flashdance
Footloose
Dirty Dancing

I'm sorry but I have to vote for Swayze. Baby, I can do without. But Swayze...yum.
LOL when you said old dance movies, I thought "Astaire and Rogers" right off the bat. I wouldn't vote for any of the three you have. I'd go for something much more classical like "Castle Walk" or "On The Town". :)
Hey! Swayze did tend to capture the hearts of women in that film, didn't he?
And if I'd had clips of Astaire and Rogers I would have included them. My personal fave was Gene Kelly, when he "sang in the rain" or did that number for "we got trouble... right here in River City... starts with P and rhymes with T ...." Ah, yes, those were moments to remember.
OR, what about Gregory Hines and Mikhail in White Knights? Grrrr, bring it on :)
LOL Puts me in the mood to go back and watch all those movies.
Definitely have to vote for DIRTY DANCING! I still love this movie.
A close second is FOOTLOOSE.
I was never a Flashdance fan though.
Curious though, would Dirty Dancing be as popular as it was and still is with some, if Patrick Swayze hadn't been in the movie?
Wooh...it's time for an old movie night. Patrick wins that one, hands down! Rawr!
