Poor babies! Hunks laid low.

Is your man worse than the kids when he's got a cold or the flu?

That's pretty typical, according to a just published Australian survey. And this is news???!!! *grin*

90% of women thought they coped better and what's really interesting, 60% of men agreed! Not only that, they admitted they'd expect their female partner to look after them. Well, of course.

The thing I found hard to believe is that only 30% of women admitted they got cranky or irritated with their man when he whined and moaned. Only 30%??? Heavens, I remember when my DH got a nasty flu bug. He lay on his bed of pain, calling weakly for something every five minutes - orange juice, a painkiller, the newspaper, a cloth for his manly brow, a hand to hold. Etc, etc, ad nauseum. And his timing was uncanny. Every time I collapsed into a chair with a sigh of relief...

Poor darling. I was so horrible to him, he hobbled back to work before he was really well enough and had a relapse. I felt awful.

As for the other side of the coin, only 32% of women said their man made a fuss of them when they were sick. Guess I must be one lucky hussy...

Are you?

I only have a little sympathy when hubby is sick. 'Cause if he gets sick then the kids get sick and I have to take care of them while he is at work. Then when I get sick, I still have to see after the kids about half the time. Hubby helps out. Thankfully, have only had viral colds in this household, nothing major.

Mine does the moan and groan, I'm dying thing when he has a cold. Lays on the couch and says, can you get me a pillow. Can you get me a drink, can you get me..... And like a good little wife I do it all. I will say he has been wonderful with everything that has been going on with me. He's at my beck and call. Always asking if there is anything he can get me or help me with.

Hubby isn't too bad when he gets sick, he just takes himself off to bed and usually stays there. My gripe is that when I'M sick I don't have the luxury of just heading off to bed 'cause the world seems to come to a grinding halt if I do *rolls eyes*.

Seems like we all share the same complaint. When the DH is sick, he gets to lay abed and rest and groan; but, when we're sick, we keep on going. Don't you just love the double standard in this "age of equality"? Yeah, right...
